01 Vessels for HabitationThis project begins by investigating water as a living system under pressure. We were tasked with constructing an assemblage derived from significant buildings in Rio de Janeiro, using their formal and spatial elements as a point of departure. The resulting composition produces an intersection of spaces that form cavities for gathering, reflection, and collective memory. The scene is informed by the ongoing work of Maya communities in Homún, México, who are actively protecting cenotes from industrial pollution caused by the rapid expansion of pig farming. Their efforts position the project within a broader collective agency, one that seeks to produce meaningful, globally resonant impact.
